The Yonex BG Aerobite Boost badminton string is a hybrid string with two different gauge sizes. Never seen before with such a fine gauge (0.61mm on the crosses)!!
The 0.72 mm gauge is used for the mains (the red string). The 0.61 mm gauge is used for the crosses (the Anthracite string).

This "hybrid" concept allows you to better "sharpen" your smashes (they drop closer to the net) and gives you optimum precision for touch shots.
The 0.72 mm gauge is placed in the mains because it is often the mains string that breaks during off-centre hits.
With the thicker gauge in the mains, you get a superb compromise between durability and feel thanks to this new concept.
