Stringing Advice (Tension)
The mechanical behaviour of Zyex requires special attention when stringing. Ashaway and professional stringers recommend a golden rule:
Reduce the tension by 10% to 15% compared to a standard nylon string (such as a Tecnifibre Synthetic Gut).
Why? Zyex experiences almost no tension loss over time and has a very stiff response on impact. If you string it too tight, the stringbed will be extremely stiff, which will affect comfort and power.
A recommended tension is generally between 10 kg and 11 kg (22-24 lbs).
