Description
UNI-DAMP Humidity Cabinet: optimise the lifespan of your badminton shuttlecocks
Already adopted by over 600 clubs in Denmark, the UNI-DAMP humidity cabinet significantly extends the lifespan of shuttlecocks while improving their playing quality.
Badminton shuttlecocks are made from natural materials, notably feathers, which tend to dry out when stored in poor conditions. Losing their moisture, the feathers become stiffer and break more easily.
The example is simple: a dry branch breaks easily, whereas a slightly moist branch remains flexible and strong. The feathers of a shuttlecock react in exactly the same way.
By storing your shuttlecock tubes in a UNI-DAMP humidity cabinet, you preserve their natural flexibility, improve their behaviour in play, and considerably reduce your replacement costs.
Advantages of the UNI-DAMP cabinet
- Increases the lifespan of shuttlecocks by 50 to 80%.
- Reduces shuttlecock purchases by 25 to 40%, depending on your consumption.
- Enhances playing feel thanks to optimal weight and humidity.
- Offers a quick return on investment through savings made.
- Consumes very little energy: 0.36 kWh per day on average.
- Simple to use and minimal maintenance required.
Precise humidity control
The cabinet is equipped with an electronic humidity regulation system.
Its digital screen allows real-time viewing of:
- the programmed humidity level;
- the current humidity level;
- the operating status of the device.
The water reservoir is easily accessible, even when the cabinet is fully loaded.
Security and practicality
The doors are fitted with locks and each cabinet is supplied with four keys.
On double models, a single key opens both doors for simplified use.
Each compartment can also be individually secured with a padlock (optional).
Technical specifications
- Dimensions: 54 × 60 × 186 cm
- Capacity: 132 shuttlecock tubes
- Suitable for clubs consuming approximately 250 to 500 tubes per year
- 3 independent and lockable compartments
Effective humidification
After about three weeks of storage, the humidity penetrates to the core of the feathers, allowing them to regain their original flexibility.
The cabinet uses a small amount of water to maintain a constant humidity level. The reservoir must be refilled every 2 to 4 weeks, depending on ambient temperature, room humidity, and frequency of cabinet opening.
We recommend using tap water. Deionised water can extend the filter’s lifespan, but from an economic standpoint, tap water remains the most advantageous solution.
Purchase or rental
Each club has different needs and budgets. That is why we offer two solutions:
- Purchase, ideal for a long-term investment and maximising savings over time.
- Rental, perfect for testing the solution or limiting initial investment.

Validated results
Tests conducted by Badminton Europe at its elite centre in Holbæk show that players prefer shuttlecocks stored in a humidity cabinet.
By regaining their original weight, a shuttlecock can absorb up to 0.5 g of water. Shuttlecocks offer a more consistent trajectory, better hitting sensations, and significantly improved playing quality.
