Anders Antonsen, born in April 1997 in Aarhus, Denmark, started playing badminton around the age of six. Alongside his older brother, Kasper Antonsen, they learned to play thanks to their father who worked at the club in their hometown. The young Dane made his international debut in 2013 and quickly established himself as a formidable singles opponent.
He won his first junior titles from 2015 onwards and then secured a silver medal at the 2017 European Badminton Championships. He reached the second step of the podium at the 2019 World Championships.
In 2021, he claimed the European champion title in Kiev, marked by his victory due to the forfeit of his compatriot Viktor Axelsen because of Covid.
In April 2024, he was crowned European men's singles champion by defeating Toma Junior Popov in the final of the 2024 European Badminton Championships.
