Description
The Yonex badminton racket Astrox 88D TOUR returns with a new design, enhanced with the brand's latest innovative technologies.
In terms of characteristics, the racket is stiff with a slightly head-heavy balance for a light weight (4U).
It has been developed to suit attacking players (intermediate players and competitors) while maintaining an exceptional shuttle feel.
The Astrox 88D TOUR is geared towards control play in the net area with decisive attacks.
Developed over 30 years ago, the ISOMETRIC design increases the sweet spot by 7%: Compared to a conventional round frame, a racket equipped with this technology generates a larger sweet spot by optimising the intersection of the mains and crosses. ISOMETRIC offers better control without sacrificing power.
The racket benefits from a new construction and a new weight distribution: the Rotational Generator System. The counterbalanced head weight adapts to each shot, helping you control your shots and attack your opponent with increased acceleration, a sharper angle, and more power on the smash. Combined with the 2G-NANOMESH NEO graphite used in the shaft, characterised by fast flex and snapback for a combination that maximises shot power and enhances the performance of the Rotational Generator System.
The new technology introduced in this racket, Stability Weight Distribution, provides weight distribution on the sides of the frame to improve stability during the swing, allowing you to maximise smash power and effectively break through defences during backcourt attacks.
This power is multiplied thanks to an additional 10mm length extension which will increase your hitting power by 5% or more compared to a conventional racket.
Yonex integrates its Rexis technology which improves the shaft's design performance with high-quality graphite. The Ultra Slim Shaft, thinner than conventional models, improves swing speed and thus produces stronger and more intense shots.
Thanks to the new shaft and the new racket construction (the 2G-Namd), you have more power in your smashes and more control in your slower shots. In detail, the 2G-Namd significantly improves the adhesion of graphite fibres and resin. Thus, flexibility is greater in smashes where racket speed is higher. This provides more explosiveness and acceleration during the hit. In drive play, conversely, the racket speed is slower: the new shaft provides more control and thus accelerates the racket head.
The Yonex Astrox 88D Tour racket benefits from a new wider CAP for the thumb to increase energy transfer, ensure more shaft flex, and emphasise more power (Energy Boost Cap Plus).

Technologies
- Aero+box Frame : Combination of 2 frame shapes for a solid feel and a fast swing.
- Isometric : Increases the sweet spot by 7%: Compared to a conventional round frame, a racket with this technology generates a larger sweet spot by optimizing the intersection of the mains and crosses. ISOMETRIC offers better control without sacrificing power.
- 2g Namd Flex Force : Graphite is characterized by its rapid flexibility and instantaneous return, which provides maximum power.
- Slim Shafts : The thin shaft significantly reduces air resistance during the swing and increases your speed with less effort, giving you much more stability and accuracy.
- Energy Boost Cap Plus : Uniquely shaped cap that maximizes handle performance. The front allows the handle to flex, while the arc-shaped lateral curve stabilizes the racket face by preventing the handle from twisting.
- Rexis Shaft : improves shaft design performance with high-quality graphite.
- Power Assist Bumper : Increased power with a weighted pad made of tungsten, adding 55% more weight than conventional eyelets, which improves the Rotational Generator system, rapidly transferring more weight onto the flywheel.
