The Yonex badminton racket Astrox 88S PRO returns with a new design, enhanced by the brand’s latest innovative technologies.
In terms of features, the racket is stiff with a slightly head-heavy balance for a light weight (3U).
It has been developed to suit attacking players (intermediate players and competitors) while maintaining an exceptional shuttle feel.
The Astrox 88S Pro is geared towards control play near the net with decisive attacks.
The racket benefits from a new construction and a new weight distribution: the Rotational Generator System. The counterbalanced head-heavy weight adapts to each shot, helping you control your strokes and attack your opponent with increased acceleration, a sharper angle, and more power on the smash. Combined with the graphite 2G-NANOMESH NEO used in the shaft, characterised by quick flex and snapback, this combination maximises shot power and enhances the performance of the Rotational Generator System.
This power is further multiplied thanks to an additional 5mm length extension, which will increase your hitting power by 5% or more compared to a conventional racket. The 5mm increased racket length allows for quick manoeuvrability, while the expanded hitting area through frame design optimisation increases precision (Expanded Sweet Spot for Control).
This provides more support for fast play and secures points on front-court attacks.
The shaft, made from ultra polyethylene fibre (Ultra PEF), offers lightness while being able to withstand immense forces. These characteristics maximise shock absorption.
The grommets have been improved with a new pattern using larger and strategically placed grommets, a technology that allows greater string movement upon impact for more assertive shots. The Astrox 88S, designed for front-line players, will have longer string bed retention for precise net control, while the Astrox 88D, designed for back-court players, will balance repulsion and string bed retention for maximum power.
Cutting-edge graphite 2G-Nanomesh NEO technology is used to produce an ultra-slim, ultra-strong, and aerodynamic shaft. The Extra Slim Shaft, thinner than conventional models, improves swing speed and thus produces stronger and more intense shots.
The Yonex Astrox 88S Pro racket features a new wider thumb CAP to increase energy transfer, ensure more shaft flex, and deliver greater power (Energy Boost Cap Plus).
